How should I take this medication?
Oral: Usual: Use one inhalation twice daily (~12 hours apart); maximum dose 2 inhalations twice daily. Should be used in combination with an inhaled corticosteroid and not as monotherapy.
How to Take:
Foradil Dry Powder Inhaler (capsule): Remove the capsule from the blister pack prior to use. Place the capsule into the chamber of the Aerolizer inhaler; close the inhaler and pierce the capsule. Take a deep inhalation through the mouthpiece; hold your breath as long as you can. Repeat if any powder remains in the capsule. Throw away the empty capsule.
Oxeze Turbuhaler: Hold the turbuhaler upright and turn the colored grip as far as it will go in one direction and then turn back to original position; a clicking sound indicates that the turbuhaler is ready to be used. Take a deep inhalation through the mouthpiece; hold your breath as long as you can.
If the turbuhaler is accidentally dropped or shaken, or if you exhale into the mouthpiece, the dose will be lost and a new dose needs to be loaded.
You Need to Avoid: Do not wash the mouthpiece; clean the outside once weekly with a dry tissue.
