Indicated for treatment of ocular disorders.
How does this medication work?
Mast cell stabilizer that inhibits the in vivo type I immediate hypersensitivity reaction to increase cutaneous vascular permeability associated with IgE and antigen-mediated reactions
How should I take this medication?
Usual (Ophthalmic): Instill 1 to 2 drops into each affected eye 4 times daily.
How to Take: For topical ophthalmic use only, not for injection. Wash hands before use. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip to eyelids or other surfaces when placing drops in the eyes. Remove contact lenses prior to administration. Wait 15 minutes or longer before reinserting lenses.
What should I watch for while using this medication?
Before using Alomide make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take, pre-existing medical conditions and activities you perform. Alomide may cause discomfort or transient burning or stinging upon instillation, temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of this medicine, apply it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at one time.
How should I store this medication?
Keep out of the reach of children at all times. Store at cool room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
What are the possible side effects of using this medication?
Transient burning, stinging, or discomfort upon instillation.
